The origin of Ayurveda dates back to the Pre-Vedic era. The term Ayurveda means 'science of life' It deals elaborately with measures of healthy living during various phases of the life span of individuals. Besides dealing with principles of maintenance of health, it also develops a wide range of therapeutic measures to combat illness. These principles of positive health and therapeutic measures relate to physical, mental, social and spiritual welfare of human beings. Thus Ayurveda is considered to be the oldest system of health case dealing with both the preventive and curative aspects of life in the most comprehensive way. A REFLECTION OF OUR BACKGROUND The Rajiv Gandhi Education Society's Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, RON Established in the year 1993-94 by a dedicated band of enthusiasts about Ayurveda being managed by the Rajiv Gandhi Education Society Ron, a premier non-profit educational organization, functioning under the president ship of Shri. G.S. Patil. and has under its wings more than Seven recognized education institutions imparting quality education right from the primary level to the highest level of Education which includes Ayurveda, B.Ed, Bp. Ed, D.Ed, I.T.I, High School & Primary, Pre primary, B.B.A., and B.C.A. The driving force behind the society is the able leadership provided by its president Shri. G.S. Patil. Ron is situated 90 k.m. East of Hubli-Dharwad, 40 k.m. North East of District head Quarters, Gadag & 30 k.m. south of Badami historical place. Ron is a taluka place, well known for Cultural heritage. Environment of Ron has attracted the attention of many Schools & intellectuals for its rich cultural heritage. Rajiv Gandhi Education Society's, Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital has the started with the affiliation of Karnataka University Dharwad, recognised by Govt. of Karnataka & CCIM New Delhi. After 1996 Karnataka University Dharwad coach up candidates to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, and our college has been affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The doors of Rajiv Gandhi Education Society's Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital open to all classes of people and also to its Educational Institutions. The benficiers belong to all sections of the society and region. The many on going projects need the whole hearted support of the public.
